Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo had plenty to look forward to this Friday in the general classification of the Tour de Ski after his victory in the classic sprint of the cross-country skiing world cup in Val di Fiemme (Italy). Winning for the second time on the tour, the Norwegian took the opportunity to extend his lead.

He is now one minute and thirty-five seconds ahead of Sweden’s Edvin Anger, who suffered a broken pole that prevented him from going beyond the quarter-finals. A solid lead that the Scandinavian will be keen to strengthen this Saturday during the skiathlon, as the final climb toAlpe Cermis (Italy) does not appear to be the format in which he can best express himself.
Erik Valnes, who was a semi-finalist in the afternoon, is now third in the rankings, 2 minutes and 11 seconds behind his compatriot and leader. Having failed to qualify during the day, Hugo Lapalus nonetheless limited the damage, with the Cluse in sixth place just 25 seconds off the podium.

His team-mate Mathis Desloges is eleventh, just four seconds behind Jan Thomas Jenssen, currently tenth. Rémi Bourdin is seventeenth , while Richard Jouve, who did not start the day’s finals, remains in the top 20 in nineteenth place.
