After the withdrawal of numerous foreign athletes such as Iivo Niskanen, Coletta Rydzek and Calle Halfvarsson, the French clan was not spared on the eve of the Tour de Ski. On Friday afternoon, we learned that Jules Chappaz had withdrawn from the race after falling ill over the last few days.

In his place, his team-mate and friend from La Clusaz (Haute-Savoie), Théo Schely, will be defending his chances, as he had not been selected, in particular to prepare for the stage in Les Rousses (Jura). This is a real blow for the man who, on 30 December 2024, claimed his first career podium in the Toblach (Italy) skate sprint, the first event of the 2024/2025 edition.
