This Tuesday lunchtime, theNorwegian Ski Association announced the state of health of its sprinter Kristine Stavaas Skistad. She underwent stomach surgery last Friday and will have to miss the start of the season. “She will be absent for an unspecified period of time”, says the federal communication.
As far as NTB is concerned, Ove Feragen, the Norwegian national team doctor, was quoted by TV2 as saying that she would not be present “in Beitostølen and Ruka”, for the opening races and the first World Cup of the winter season.
“The operation went as planned and Kristine [Staavas Skistad] is now looking ahead to the highlight of the year, the World Championships in Trondheim. She will devote the next few weeks to rehabilitation and training, and will return to competition when she is ready,” he continues.
