Cross-country skiing: Jessie Diggins retains her globe in a thriller
Jessie Diggins managed to keep her small crystal globe in the distance by just two points, with 1384 points to Astrid Oeyre Slind‘s 1382. This is her third small globe in the distance after 2021 and 2024, and makes it a double big globe – small globe distance this season.

The suspense was at its highest for the small globe of distance in the 50km classic to close the World Cup season in Lahti (Finland). Norway’s Astrid Oeyre Slind did everything she could to close the 76-point gap on Jessie Diggins.
The Scandinavian quickly secured second place in the 50km. The American, who was struggling today, had to hold on to the overall lead over the distance. She did just that, securing eighth place in the race to maintain her two-point lead.
