Cross-country skiing: first small globe for Simen Hegstad Krueger
Norway’s Simen Hegstad Krueger won his first small globe in the distance, after finishing second in the 50km classic in Lahti (Finland). He has had a solid season in the distance, with seven podium finishes and victory at Alpe Cermis on the Tour de Ski.

The 32-year-old cross-country skier has added another title to his already impressive list of achievements. He won three Olympic titles in Pyeongchang (South Korea) in 2018 in the skiathlon and relay, followed by one in Beijing (China) in 2022. He completed a hat-trick of titles – skiathlon, individual and relay – at the World Championships in Planica (Slovenia) in 2023.
