Cross-country skiing: the 42nd Belles Combes race approaches
Cancelled last winter, the popular Les Belles Combes long-distance cross-country ski race returns to the calendar on 21 and 22 December. Organised in Les Moussières (Jura), this event will open the Marathon Ski Team season and will be part of the Ski Classics Challengers calendar.
A total of six races are planned, each with a single lap to complete. Saturday will be reserved for skating, with a 30km, a 15km and a 15km hike, while Sunday will be devoted to classic technique, with a 42km, a 23km and a 15km.
In total, Les Belles Combes, as announced by the organisers a few days after registration opened, will bring together more than 500 participants, with the notable presence of several French teams (Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petit, Team Vercors Isère, i3 Ski Team, Haute-Savoie Nordic Team), as well as Thomas Joly (Team Ramudden), Jérémy Royer (Team Eksjöhus) and Hanna Fine (eD system Vltava Fund Team). Norwegian Thomas Oedegaarden (Team Eksjöhus), Laurie Flochon-Joly‘s boyfriend, has also been announced.
All of them will be aiming to succeed Théo Schely and Solène Faivre, the title-holders in the classic marathon, the showpiece race at Les Belles Combes.
