Cross-country skiing: “If I have good races, I can be on the podium”, says Edvin Anger
This weekend, the cross-country skiing world cup returns to Les Rousses (Jura). Edvin Anger, who recently finished ninth in the Tour de Ski, is one of the headliners of the event. The Swede is approaching the event full of confidence and ambition.

“I had a good feeling at the Tour de Ski. Afterwards, I was obviously tired. There were a lot of races, but my return to training was good for me. The Tour de Ski was a big step forward for me. It was really nice. I think it’s going to be a good weekend here. If I do some good races, I can be on the podium”, he assured Nordic Magazine at a press briefing on Thursday evening.
Fourth in the classic sprint in 2023
The 22-year-old cross-country skier is taking part in the Les Rousses World Cup for the second time after 2023. Back then, he took fourth place in the classic sprint. “I’m happy to be here, in Les Rousses, and to see all the spectators at the side of the track cheering us on. I raced here two years ago and I have nothing but good memories. I really like the classic sprint track. It will be fun”, he smiles.

Having made great progress in distance events, Edvin Anger could be in with a shout this Friday in the individual 10km skate race. To do so, race management will be very important for the tall Swede.
“It’s a track that’s a bit special over the distance with a difficult start, so you can’t force yourself too much when you start the race. You need to save your legs and your energy for the rest of the track. You also need to have a very good plan and go a little slower, then attack on the easier parts,” he reveals.
