Cross-country skiing: “My aim is to be proud of myself”, says Flora Dolci
This weekend, the cross-country skiing world cup returns to Les Rousses (Jura). It’s an event that Flora Dolci is not approaching in the best of form, having pulled out of the Tour de Ski due to illness.

“I was ill before [the Tour de Ski]. I tried anyway. I think my body didn’t recover enough and then the illness dragged on a bit. So now I’m not at 100%, let’s say I’m at 70%, but I’ve been able to ski. I don’t really know where I stand. We did some more intensities and I went back to do a national race at Le Grand-Bornand, which was great. Tomorrow [Friday], I won’t have to think about it, just go for it, enjoy it and make the most of it. My aim is to be proud of myself”, says the Haut-Alpine.
“The track is really impressive,” says Flora Dolci.
This home leg of the World Cup is bound to be special for the French cross-country skiers. What’s more, for Flora Dolci, 25, the track at the Tuffes stadium has nothing to envy other World Cup venues.
“It’s always a pleasure to come back here. The track is really impressive. Frankly, it’s on a par with many other tracks. It’s in the top 3, I’d even say. There are going to be a lot of people here, a lot of friends and family, so it’s going to be great!

On the programme for Flora Dolci: the individual skate race on Friday and the classic mass-start on Sunday. A good opportunity for her to enjoy the crowds and test herself in the classics.
“It’s going to be a fight. It’s going to be great. I’m determined to make progress in the classics, so it’s a great opportunity. It’s a mass-start, there are lots of people, so it’s going to be really cool”, she concludes.
