Cross-country skiing : the sprinters take to the track in Les Rousses
The day after the opening individual skate races won by Jessie Diggins and Iver Tildheim Andersen, the cross-country skiing World Cup in Les Rousses (Jura) continues this Saturday with the eagerly awaited classic sprint. And it’s with the traditional qualifiers that the athletes will test themselves for the first time.

The women cross-country skiers will be the first to take to the track from 12.15pm. The young Norwegian, Ingrid Bergene Aabrekk, will open the ball just a few seconds before Jessie Diggins‘ number 4. On the French side, Mélissa Gal will be the first to start with number 17. Léna Quintin will start in twenty-third position, just ahead of Jonna Sundling. Julie Pierrel will be in 36, Léonie Perry in 38, Liv Coupat in 39, Léonie Besson in 41 and Clémence Didierlaurent in 42. Finally, Justine Gaillard will start in the 43 for her first time on the circuit.

In the men’s race, Rémi Bourdin will kick off the hostilities on home soil with bib number 1 at 12.46pm. Richard Jouve, a fantastic winner in 2023, will follow closely behind with number 2. Lucas Chanavat will start with number 6, Jules Chappaz with number 25, Renaud Jay with number 27, and Julien Arnaud with number 50. Ivan Essonnier , who will be making his World Cup debut, will be wearing 53, while his compatriot Victor Cullet Calderini will be wearing 57.
