Cross-country skiing: alone in the world, Margot Tirloy is crowned French U20 mass-start classic champion
While the first races of the day took place on Sunday morning in ideal conditions on a hard track, the sun has since made its presence felt on the slopes of Les Saisies (Savoie).
The U20 women’s mass-start classic of the 2025 French cross-country skiing championships was no picnic for the entrants. In these conditions, the strongest racers were out in front and it was no surprise that Margot Tirloy, from Cluse, quickly took the lead.
A cut above the rest, the cross-country skier from the Mont-Blanc committee won by a wide margin to claim her third gold medal in three days , following on from the sprint skate and classic relay medals.
“I really wanted to have a great last race after winning the club relay, the sprint and the committee relay! I’ve achieved my goal and it’s just too good,” she told Nordic Magazine.

Mortuacian Romane Nappey took silver at 18 sec 0 and Jurassienne Agathe Margreither bronze at 58 sec 4.
Next in the top 10 were Chloé Missillier, Annette Coupat, Daphné Patois, Louise Marguet, Marguerite Couval, Alice Bourdin and Lee Lou Cartier Michaud.
