The first winter stage of the Scandinavian cross-country skiing cup came to a close on Sunday with a 10-kilometre individual skate. In Lillehammer, Norway, it was the women who were the first to compete for the final victory of the weekend.
Beaten by Helene Marie Fossesholm on Saturday in the mass-start classic, Sophia Laukli got her revenge in Sunday’s race. In her preferred style, the American outdistanced the previous day’s winner by more than 18 seconds at the line. Norway’s Karoline Simpson-Larsen took third place on the podium.

In the men’s race, Iver Tildheim Andersen also reigned supreme. Untouchable throughout the race, the Norwegian finished strongly to take first place by a margin of more than 20 seconds over his compatriot Mattis Stenshagen. His team-mate Haavard Moseby took third place 30 seconds from the winner. Also of note was the solid performance of young biathlete Johan-Olav Botn, sixth on the line.
