Cross-country skiing : first starts at 9am for the sprint skate qualifier
Following the victories of Therese Johaug and Martin Loewstroem Nyenget in the opening individual skate races, the Lillehammer (Norway) Cross-Country Ski World Cup continues this Saturday with the first skate sprint of the season on the programme.
And it’s the women who will get the ball rolling with Lotta Udnes Weng at 9am. On the Blue side, there will be four athletes representing the French colours. Léna Quintin will start with number 7, while Mélissa Gal will wear number 36. Maëlle Veyre will also be taking part, starting in forty-second place, while Flora Dolci will close the French line with number 57.
In the men’s race, Canadian Antoine Cyr will be the first to start at 9.31am. Renaud Jay will be the first Frenchman with bib number 15, followed by Richard Jouve on 17, Jules Chappaz on 19, Lucas Chanavat on 31 and Rémi Bourdin on 51. Thibaut Chêne ‘s men will be looking to bounce back after missing out on a classic sprint in Ruka (Finland).
