Cross-country skiing : “It was a pleasure to see her skiing freely again”, says Anders Bystroem
The Swedish team is currently on the snow in Vålådalen (Sweden), giving the cross-country skiers the chance to battle it out in an internal race. Linn Svahn made a promising comeback after a long period of convalescence following concussion at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), dominating the proceedings.
“Linn was in good shape, technically she was there, and it was nice to see her on the piste and able to go at full speed […] It was a pleasure to see her skiing freely again, with no constraints,” Anders Bystroem, manager of the Swedish national team, told SVT Sport.

The 25-year-old was followed by Johanna Hagstroem and Maerta Rosenberg. Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom were missing from the line-up, all on training or recovering, but Linn Svahn took the opportunity to make her mark ahead of the season opener in Gällivare (Sweden) from 21 to 23 November.
In the men’s race, Edvin Anger won. The 23-year-old cross-country skier confirmed his rise to prominence: “Edvin took a resounding victory. He was in great form,” said Bystroem.
