Federico Pellegrino is still there. The 34-year-old Italian won theindividual skate race at the FIS cross-country ski races in Muonio, northern Finland, on Sunday.

A consistent rider throughout the 10-kilometre course, the Transalpine fought hard right to the end to maintain his narrow lead over Friedrich Moch. Indeed, at the finish line, the German was just 7 seconds behind his main rival of the day.

Behind the leading duo, Finland’s Arsi Ruuskanen snatched third place from Davide Graz by just a tiny tenth. Austrian Benjamin Moser rounded off the day’s top 5.
