Cross-country skiing: 21 Norwegian cross-country skiers in the elite national team for the 2025/2026 season
Shortly after midday on Monday, theNorwegian Ski Association unveiled the composition of its elite national cross-country skiing team for the 2025/2026 training season, the season leading up to the Olympic Games.
This time, there was no lengthy debate about whether or not Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo would be present, as he willingly signed up with his national group.
Around him are Harald Oestberg Amundsen, Iver Tildheim Andersen, Ansgar Evensen, Simen Hegstad Krueger, Even Northug, Martin Loewstroem Nyenget, Erik Valnes, Andreas Fjorden Ree, Jan Thomas Jenssen and Oskar Opstad Vike. The last three are in the A team for the first time.
A place reserved for Therese Johaug, just in case
On the women’s side, there is just one newcomer: Nora Sanness. It should be notedthat a place is being kept warm for Therese Johaug should she decide to continue her career, while Astrid Oeyre Slind has turned down the national team to continue training with Team Aker Dæhlie.
The others are : Margrethe Bergane, Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs, Julie Myhre, Mathilde Myhrvold, Kristine Stavaas Skistad, Heidi Weng, Lotta Udnes Weng and Tiril Udnes Weng.
