Cross-country skiing: William Poromaa second behind Nyenget
Martin Loewstroem Nyenget was unbeatable in the individual classic of the cross-country skiing world cup stage in Oslo (Norway). The Norwegian won by 51.2 seconds ahead of William Poromaa. Only Simen Hegstad Krueger could have demoted Poromaa to third place. For the winner of the mass-start in Les Rousses (Jura), it was his seventh podium finish.

In the mixed zone, William Poromaa was all smiles. “I’m really happy, I really gave it my all and fought right to the end. It’s great to have done it. If someone had told me beforehand that I’d finish second, I really wouldn’t have believed it,” said the Scandinavian on Viaplay (quoted by Expressen).
A week earlier, at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), the Swede had already finished second in the legendary 50km event, just 2.1 seconds behind Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo.
In contrast to the latter, who said he was “tired” after his world sweep, the Swede has kept in shape. My biggest objective was to recharge my batteries just after the World Championships,” he said. Today I felt pretty good from start to finish, and I also had good skis.
