A few minutes after the women’s and men’s individual skateboard events in the U20 and senior categories, the young cross-country skiers under the age of eighteen took to the track at the FESA Cross-Country Skiing Games in Planica (Slovenia). And a French athlete won the event.

Gaspard Cottaz was in the thick of things from the very first metres, finishing a superb second. Beaten by an untouchable Daniel Pedranzini , the young man from Isère put in a great effort to keep his place on the podium. Despite being more than 30 seconds off the lead, the 17-year-old still managed to beat Italy’s Luca Pietroboni by more than 30 seconds.

Behind the Dauphinois, Montblancers Victor Lafrasse and Simon Calandry finished eighth and ninth respectively. Elite Hautes-Alpes resident Lilian Jaussaud finished thirteenth in the finish area.
