After the individual U20 and senior women’s skate races, in which France’s Margot Tirloy and Julie Pierrel won, it was the turn of the cross-country skiers to compete in this 10-kilometre event at the FESA Cross-Country Skiing Cup organised in Planica ( Slovenia).

Savoyard Victor Cullet Calderini put in a fine effort in the second half of the race to climb onto the podium. The cross-country skier from Les Menuires (Savoie) was always in the thick of the action in the intermediates and held on to take second place on the day behind Italy’s Lorenzo Romano, who won by nearly 14 seconds over the Frenchman. Germany’s Jannis Grimmecke rounded off the top 3.

As for the other French riders, the Haut-Alpin Julien Arnaud finished fifth, just a few cables ahead of his fellow Vosges rider Mattéo Correia, who was ninth at the finish. Savoyard Mathieu Blanc crossed the line in fifteenth place ahead of Féclazian Gaspard Rousset, nineteenth. Doubiste Luc Primet settled for twenty-second place, while Savoyard Ivan Essonnier finished thirtieth.
