The second day of competition at the FESA Cup cross-country ski race in Prémanon ( Jura) came to a close on Saturday with the individual classic in the senior category. After Gaspard Cottaz ‘s fine second place in the U20 category at the end of the 10-kilometre Jura course, the Blues still had a chance to make their mark.

And the best of them was Ivan Essonnier. Setting a good pace, the Savoyard finished fifth in a race won by Germany’s Jannis Grimmecke ahead of his compatriot Elias Keck and Italy’s Lorenzo Romano. Behind the Frenchman, Gaspard Rousset rounded off the top 10.
