09:21. Winner for the first time this season last weekend of the skate sprint in Lillehammer (Norway), Jonna Sundling will be one of the big favourites in the sprint in the same style organised on Saturday on the third stage of the cross-country skiing world cup in Davos (Switzerland).
Also expected to take part in the team sprint this Friday, in which she will compete alongside Emma Ribom, the Swede is nonetheless competing in these, her last races of the year on the circuit. The Scandinavian will not be lining up at the start of the Tour de Ski on 28 December to prepare for the world championships in Trondheim (Norway).
“My main objective is the World Championships and we’ve planned my training around that. That includes the World Cup until Christmas, then a short break, and then the World Cup again,” she tells TT. Does that mean I’m skipping the Tour de Ski? You’ve got it right. I want to be in good shape in Trondheim.
