Cross-country skiing : the Marathon Ski Tour opens in Bessans this weekend
Initially, the Marathon Ski Tour, a circuit bringing together a number of popular cross-country ski races, was due to open on 22 December at Les Belles Combes before being postponed to 15 and 16 February. The long-distance calendar will now open with the Bessans International Marathon ( Savoie) on Saturday and Sunday.

Starting on Saturday, fans of classic racing will be able to compete over 15 and 30 kilometre routes. A delegation from Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite will be taking part, including Antoine Millet, Boris Berglez, Bastien Laurent, Laurie Flochon-Joly, Amélie Suiffet and Léonie Harivel.
On Sunday, it’s time for the skating events, where a good turnout is expected. The organisers recently announced that they had broken the record for registrations for their event. Over courses of 10, 23 or 42 kilometres, the participants will battle it out for one of the most prestigious victories of the season in popular competitions.

Last year, Emilie Bulle and Maurice Manificat won in front of a strong field.
