This Wednesday, the first team event of the world cross-country skiing championships in Trondheim (Norway) will be held in the famous team sprint format. And in this 2025 edition, the various teams lining up will be competing in the classic format.

On the men’s side, the French are bringing out the heavy artillery with a duo made up of Richard Jouve and Jules Chappaz, who recently finished fourth in the skateboard sprint held last Thursday. Opposing them will be Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo and Erik Valnes, respectively world champion and runner-up in the individual classic the day before.

In the women’s category, a French team will also be in the starting line-up. Mélissa Gal and Léna Quintin have been selected to represent the French team. The two Haut-Savoyard women will have their work cut out against teams like Sweden’s Jonna Sundling, gold medallist in the sprint skate a few days earlier, and Maja Dahlqvist, as well as Norway.
