Cross-country skiing: junior cross-country skiers open the ball in Schilpario
It’s the big day. After long weeks of waiting, the best athletes in the junior and U23 categories will be battling it out all week long on the slopes of Schilpario (Italy) for the world junior and U23 cross-country skiing championships. This Monday, the junior classic sprint qualifiers kick off the competition.

From 10 am, the young women will start the race, led by American Sammy Smith, number 1 for the day. The first Frenchwoman to defend her chances will be Margot Tirloy with number 7. She will be followed by Annette Coupat on 23, Daphné Patois on 33 and Anouchka Neuville on 38.

In the men’s race, the start will be given by Jonatan Lindberg from 10.45 am. For the French, Quentin Viguier will start at 10.57am with bib number 52, Gaspard Cottaz with 56 and Simon Clavel with 71.
