A few minutes afterEirik Sverdrup Augdal ‘s victory in the men’s race, it was the turn of the women to close the 50km Marcialonga Bodø, the twelfth stage of the Ski Classics circuit, organised in Valnesfjord (Norway). Winner of the Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet in recent weeks, Stina Nilsson shone once again.

The Swede escaped from the pack shortly after the halfway point and then widened the gap on her pursuers to ensure a calmer finish. The Scandinavian from Team Ragde Charge scored her third win of the winter, ahead of Norwegian riders Emilie Fleten from Team Ramudden and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs from Team Engcon.

On the French side, Amélie Suiffet put in the best performance of the day. Still in touch with the top 15, the Savoyard from Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite took a fine thirteenth place at the finish. Behind her, Hanna Fine of Isère’s eD system Vltava Fund Team also stood out, finishing sixteenth. Léonie Harivel came 19th, Margaux Gaillard of the i3 Ski Team 26th and Noëlie Maurin 29th.
