Norway’s Amund Riege is one of the great hopefuls on the Ski Classics, the international long-distance cross-country skiing circuit. The 24-year-old cross-country skier won the Engadin la Diagonela and the Bad Gastein Criterium last season, making him one of the most coveted cross-country skiers. Amund Riege has finally decided to join the Aker Dæhlie team after three seasons with Team Ramudden .
Aker Dæhlie team manager Jarle Wermskog sees the young Norwegian as a future key member of the team.
“We are very proud and happy to have recruited Amund. He’s young and keen to continue his development. He has already shown great strength and has won races on the circuit. He can fight for victory in several competitions and is also one of the favourites for the best young rider bib,” he told Langrenn.com.

Also interviewed by Langrenn, Amund Riege admitted he had no doubts when the offer fromAker Dæhlie was presented to him at the end of last season.
“It’s fantastic. This team is made up of skiers whose worth I know well and for whom I have a deep respect. So when I received this offer and the project was presented to me, I immediately felt that I wanted to be part of it. I think it’s important to look for new sources of inspiration, and I’m convinced that this is the right decision.”
