Cross-country skiing: Jérémy Royer eighth in the Reistadløpet
This weekend sees the end of the Ski Classics circuit in Norway, with two races scheduled around Bardufoss (Norway). The legendary Reistadløpet kicked off the hostilities on Saturday with a magnificent duel between Eirik Sverdrup Augdal (Team Eksjöhus) and Thomas Oedegaarden (Team Eksjöhus) for victory.
Already well ahead last week at the Marcialonga Bodø, the two team-mates battled it out in the sprint and, as last time, Eirik Sverdrup Augdal came out on top to take victory. At 18 sec 8, Ole Joergen Bruvoll (Team Engcon) completed the podium ahead of Johan Hoel (Team Ragde Charge), Axel Jutterstroem (Team Eksjöhus) and Johan Tjelle (Team Engcon).
Eighth at 27 sec 7, Frenchman Jérémy Royer (Team Eksjöhus) had a superb race, finishing in the top 10. Simon Vuillet (i3 Ski Team) was twenty-seventh, while Thomas Joly (Team Ramudden) finished forty-first. Further back, Mattis Basille (TNE Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite) was 55th, Pierre Belingheri (i3 Ski Team) 59th and Antoine Millet (TNE Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite) 60th.
