One of the world’s most legendary cross-country ski races took place on Sunday : the Marcialonga. In Italy, it was Norwegian Andreas Nygaard who proved to be the strongest at the top of the final climb in Cavalese (Italy). He won after almost 2 hours 40 minutes. He beat Sweden’s Max Novak in the sprint. His compatriot Amund Hoel completed the podium.

On the French side, Jérémy Royer took twelfth place, almost 1 min 30 seconds behind the winner. Simon Vuillet finished twenty-eighth, Thomas Joly was fifty-sixth, Bastien Laurent seventy-fourth, Matis Leray seventy-second, Pierre Belingheri ninety-seventh, Antoine Millet ninety-fifth and Nathan Jouannon ninety-eighth.

In the women’s race, it was Norway’s Emilie Fleten who won the solo race in almost 3 hours and 10 minutes. She beat her compatriots Silje Oyre Slind and Anniken Gjerde Alnæs.

On the French side, Amélie Suiffet and Laurie Flochon-Joly shone, finishing thirteenth and sixteenth respectively. Hanna Fine was thirty-fourth and Margaux Gaillard forty-first.
