Initially scheduled to take place in Bodø (Norway), the Marcialonga Bodø was finally held in Valnesfjord (Norway) this Saturday morning due to the spring conditions and the heavy rain forecast on the initial route. The twelfth stage of the Ski Classics season, the 50-kilometre race was hotly contested.

Right up to the end, three riders were vying for the win in the final kilometres. And the strongest of them all was Eirik Sverdrup Augdal. In the sprint, the Norwegian beat his Team Eksjöhus team-mate Axel Jutterstroem by just a tenth. Behind him, their team-mate Thomas Oedegaarden enabled the Swedish team to complete an incredible hat-trick.

Nearly 2 minutes and 15 seconds after the winner, Jérémy Royer grabbed a fine top 15 finish with his pink best young rider bib on his back. Twelfth on the line, the rider from the Isère region finished just a few seconds outside the top ten after having spent a long time in a group in contact with the very best. His i3 Ski Team compatriot Simon Vuillet also shone, finishing 18th.
Thomas Joly of Team Ramudden finished 27th, Nathan Jouannon 53rd, Antoine Millet of Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite 56th, Pierre Belingheri 57th and Bastien Laurent 65th.
