10:03.This Sunday, South African cross-country skier Matthew Smith announced on Instagram the birth of his son Jon-Michael. Based in Norway with his partner Cécilie Espolin, the South African has only been cross-country skiing for 2 years. He took part in the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), but failed to make it out of the qualifying round.
“For my non-Norwegian friends, 17 May is the country’s biggest bank holidays, it’s considered Norway’s birthday, so I guess he’ll just have to share it with the country. This kid already loves the attention and the celebration. Pregnancy and birth, you marvel at what the female body, heart, character and spirit can do! Well done to Cécilie Espolin. She was so strong throughout the whole process,” we read on Instagram.
