After the women’s competition, it was the turn of the men’s cross-country skiers to take to the track for the U20 and senior qualifications in the classic sprint at the FESA Cross-Country Skiing Cup organised in St. Ulrich am Pillersee, in the Austrian Tyrol.

In the senior category, behind the Italians Simone Mocellini and Giacomo Gabrielli, Ivan Essonnier put in a fine performance. The Savoyard was the best Blue in this first heat ahead of Sabin Coupat, ninth, Mathieu Blanc, twelfth, Milhan Laissus, thirteenth, Julien Arnaud, fourteenth, Victor Cullet Calderini, fifteenth, Charly Rousset, seventeenth, Victor Lovera, twentieth, Gaspard Rousset, twenty-sixth, and Mattéo Correia, twenty-ninth. Arnaud Chautemps was eliminated after finishing thirty-fourth.

In the U20s, three young Tricolores managed to secure their ticket for the next round. They included Gaspard Cottaz, twelfth, Quentin Viguier, fifteenth, and Johan Calandry, twenty-eighth. It was the end of the road for Romain Vaxelaire, thirty-first and first eliminated, and Lorin Vergnolle, thirty-fifth.
