Cross-country skiing : an individual classic to open the World Cup
The cross-country skiing World Cup resumes this Friday in Ruka (Finland). On the programme for the first day of competition is an individual 10-kilometre classic in which the women cross-country skiers get the ball rolling at 10 am. And it won’t be long before the French take to the track.
With number 4 on her back, Juliette Ducordeau will be the first Frenchwoman to start at 10.02am. Behind her will be Mélissa Gal with number 7, Flora Dolci with number 28 and Delphine Claudel with number 58 at 11.29 am. This women’s race will also mark the comeback of Therese Johaug, who will start in twenty-fourth position.
In the men’s race, Mathis Desloges will start in tenth position at 12.45pm for his first time on this demanding course. His compatriot Rémi Bourdin will also be making his debut in Ruka with bib number 20. Behind him, Richard Jouve will wear number 28, Théo Schely number 32, Jules Chappaz number 37, Jules Lapierre number 40 and Hugo Lapalus will close the French gate with number 42.
