Cross-country skiing: the Skarverennet closes the 2024/2025 season
The 2024/2025 cross-country skiing season is not over yet! On Saturday, the Skarverennet is scheduled to take place in Norway between Finse and Ustaoset. A race that traditionally concludes the winter season at the end of April, this year it will cover only 29 km instead of the usual 37 because of the lack of snow.
The timed course will finish in Jægertoppen… but competitors will then have to make their way to Nystølen on a 6km shared track and then Ustaoset on foot for 2km.

Among the participants, as every year, there will be some fine names: biathlete Sturla Holm Lægreid, in his first competitive outing since winning the overall World Cup title, will be taking part, as will Therese Johaug, who will be aiming for her twelfth victory on the Skarverennet.
Astrid Oeyre Slind, Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs, Lotta Udnes Weng, Helene Marie Fossesholm, Harald Oestberg Amundsen, Mikael Gunnulfsen, Martin Loewstroem Nyenget, Simen Hegstad Krueger, Andrew Musgrave, Emilie Fleten, Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen and Paal Golberg will also be taking part. Frenchmen Jules Lapierre and Yan Belorgey are also on the entry list.
