From last Sunday until 10 November, part of the Swedish national cross-country skiing team were due to return to the snow at a training camp organised at the Vålådalen snowfarm (Sweden). However, due to the lack of snow and unfavourable weather forecasts, the Swedish Ski Association announced at midday today that the training camp would be terminated with immediate effect.
“We’ve taken the decision to end the camp after today’s intensity and move the remaining days to a later date at Bruksvallarna [before the opening races], explains Anders Bystroem, Team Sweden Director. Anyone who wants to can stay, but we’re also giving them the chance to go home and look for better snow conditions.”
The national team camp currently taking place in Val Senales (Italy) is unaffected and on schedule.
