Cross-country skiing: Cloé Pagnier starts her World Cup career at home
On Friday, Cloé Pagnier will start her first World Cup race on the individual skateboard course in Les Rousses (Jura). Late on Thursday afternoon, the Doubiste skier spoke to journalists about her excitement and expectations for the weekend.
A first for big girls at home
“I’m really grateful to be able to take part in this event. I think there will be a lot of people there. Me, my friends, my family, the people of the Jura. It’s a sport that’s very popular in the Massif, so it’s going to be great.”
A mixture of pressure and excitement
“I’m obviously looking forward to the race. After that, I’m a bit stressed because I’m going to get to know a lot of people. It’s a big event! But you have to take it as it comes. The aim is to get the best possible result. There’s a gate and a finish. We have to go as fast as possible.”

A galvanising public
“I mustn’t get too carried away by the public, and leave too quickly because everyone is pushing you. But I think I’ll be able to stay in my own bubble and put in the work I’ve been doing all along that’s got me this far. I want to take advantage of the atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the public to have a full race.”
