Following on from the women’s qualifier won by Nadine Faehndrich, the cross-country skiers also entered the fray in the skate sprint of the cross-country skiing world cup held in Tallinn (Estonia) on Wednesday. Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo once again dominated the field, setting the fastest time.

He finished ahead of Lucas Chanavat from Haut-Savoie, who qualified very well. Italian Federico Pellegrino, runner-up in the world championship, took third place. Norway’s Erik Valnes and Switzerland’s Janik Riebli followed.

As well as Lucas Chanavat, who came second in qualifying, three other Frenchmen will be taking part in the finals. Jules Chappaz was ninth and Rémi Bourdin fourteenth. Renaud Jay finished seventeenth in one of his last races.
Victor Cullet Calderini, on the other hand, failed to make it through qualifying, finishing in fortieth place.
