Cross-country skiing : Thomas Oedegaarden and Daphné Patois go it alone
The 47th edition of the Marathon de Bessans (Savoie) kicked off on Saturday. To kick off the programme, the classic-style specialists met up in the Haute Maurienne to battle it out over the 30-kilometre course, an event on the Ski Classics Challengers calendar.

Norwegian Ski Classics specialist Thomas Oedegaarden came out on top in Dantean conditions, with the wind everywhere. The Team Eksjöhus rider took the lead just before the halfway point, before crossing the finish line alone after 1 hour 28 minutes 48 seconds.

More than two minutes behind the Scandinavian, Doubiste Thomas Joly took second place. The Team Ramudden rider finished ahead of Nathan Jouannon, a member of Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite.

In the women’s race, it wasi3 Ski Team member Daphné Patois who came out on top. The 20-year-old cross-country skier won the race solo, nearly 30 seconds ahead of Ski Classics specialist Hanna Fine from Team Slavia Pojistovna Robinson Trentino. The podium was rounded off by Laurie Flochon Joly of Team Futura Trentino.

In the 15-kilometre race, Clément Argelès won by a narrow margin ahead of Lilian Jaussaud, while Simon Crose rounded off the podium in third place. In the women’s race, Elia Courtieu won ahead of Czech Karolina Bicova and Ninon Lefebvre.
