Cross-country skiing: 42 cross-country skiers in the French team
This Tuesday afternoon, the French Ski Federation (FFS ) unveiled the long-awaited composition of the federal squads for the 2025/2026 season. In cross-country skiing, 42 athletes make up the new French team squads.
The main news is the decision by the staff, led by Olivier Michaud, to unify the French women’s A and B teams. As a result, Alexandre Pouyé and Vincent Vittoz find themselves at the head of an enlarged squad of fourteen players.
They include Delphine Claudel, Flora Dolci, Léna Quintin, Mélina Berthet, Heidi Convard, Liv Coupat, Juliette Ducordeau, Justine Gaillard, who joins as part of a federal group, Mélissa Gal, Cloé Pagnier, Léonie Perry, Julie Pierrel, France Pignot and Margot Tirloy.
Victor Lovera returns to the French squad
The organisation remains the same on the men’s side, with an A team comprising Rémi Bourdin, Lucas Chanavat, Jules Chappaz, Mathis Desloges, Richard Jouve, Hugo Lapalus, Jules Lapierre, Victor Lovera ( back in the federal squad), Clément Parisse and Théo Schely. All will be coached by Thibaut Chêne and Vincent Meilleur.
The French B team includes Mathieu Blanc, Victor Cullet Calderini, Charly Deuffic, Ivan Essonnier, Milhan Laissus, Romain Vaxelaire and Quentin Viguier under Mathias Wibault.
Finally, in the Excellence 2030 group, Damien Tarantola will coach Gaëtane Breniaux, Annette Coupat, Lucile Coutaz, Agathe Margreither, Romane Nappey and Anouchka Neuville, whileArnaud Durand will coach Jules Bobillier-Chaumont, Johan Calandry, Gaspard Cottaz, Victor Lafrasse and Quentin Lespine.
