Cross-country skiing : 31 French competitors at the FESA Cup in St. Ulrich am Pillersee this weekend
This Friday, the second stage of the FESA Cup cross-country skiing season kicks off in St. Ulrich am Pillersee, Austria. After the opening competitions in Schlinig (Italy), the cross-country skiers will compete in a classic sprint and an individual skate.
And once again, the French team will be making the trip with a well-stocked squad. Among the senior men, Julien Arnaud, Mathieu Blanc, Arnaud Chautemps, Sabin Coupat, Mattéo Correia, Ivan Essonnier, Milhan Laissus, Victor Lovera, Charly Rousset and Gaspard Rousset will be representing France. Haut-Savoyard Clément Parisse will also be taking part, no doubt with the aim of completing a series of competitions before taking part in the Tour de Ski.
In the women’s category, Mélina Berthet, Léonie Besson, Liv Coupat, Clémence Didierlaurent, Justine Gaillard, Cloé Pagnier and Léonie Perry will be travelling to Kitzbühel. Juliette Ducordeau from Isère will also be taking part after starting the winter in the World Cup.
In the Under-20s, Johan Calandry, Gaspard Cottaz, Romain Vaxelaire, Lorin Vergnolle and Quentin Viguier will be looking to make their mark against the best on the Coupe des Alpes circuit, along with their female compatriots Annette Coupat, Agathe Margreither, Chloé Missillier, Anouchka Neuville, Ariane Pignot and Margot Tirloy, the current leader on the women’s circuit.
