Cross-country skiing : 21 athletes selected for winter 2025/2026
The British Ski Federation, GB Snowsport, has announced the cross-country skiers selected to represent Great Britain in the 2025/2026 season. There will be 21 skiers divided into four teams, the largest British team in recent years.
At elite level, Great Britain will be represented by five athletes who will continue to be part of the World Cup team: James Clugnet, Joe Davies, Gabriel Gledhill, Andrew Musgrave and Andrew Young. They are continuing their preparation in collaboration with the Norwegian cross-country team Team Aker Daehlie.
The leader of the group remains Andrew Musgrave , whose 2024/2025 season was marked by a podium finish in the 20km skate in Toblach (Italy) during the Tour de ski and a seventh and sixth place in the skiathlon and 50km skate at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway).
As well as its World Cup squad, the British team is also looking to progress at Continental Cup level, with Beinn Horsfall and Tabitha Williams continuing their progress alongside 23-year-oldAnna Pryce, who recently completed a transfer from Canada.
The Performance team is also expanding this season, with seven athletes recruited. Of particular note are the arrivals ofElke Hammerstein andEwan McAdam from the junior team.
Commenting on the selection, Kearnan Myall, Director of Winter Sports Performance for the Great Britain team, praised the determination and commitment of the athletes.
“This year’s cross-country team is a very strong group, from whom we can legitimately expect great things as we enter the new season. Last year was marked by impressive results and performances at every level, and we know that this group of athletes and the team around them will be pulling out all the stops to do even better this year.”
