Cross-country skiing: Léonie Besson and Victor Cullet lead the French Cup after two stages
Before Christmas, the second stage of the 2024/2025 French cross-country skiing cup took place in Arvieux (Hautes-Alpes). The races held in the Queyras gave the national hierarchy a chance to change… with five rounds still to be contested.
In the senior category, Victor Cullet (342), who has not won a single race but has been very consistent, is in the lead ahead of Ivan Essonnier (326), Gaspard Rousset (302) and Mattéo Correia (294). On the women’s side, it was also a member of the i3 Ski Team, Léonie Besson, who came out on top. With 346 points, she was just ahead of Clémence Didierlaurent (342), Liv Coupat (339) and Justine Gaillard (337).

In the U20s, Romain Vaxelaire (321) leads the way, but Johan Calandry (320), Adrien Marchand (314) and Isaïe Taxil (312) are less than 10 points behind. The hierarchy is much less tight on the women’s side, with Daphné Patois (371) comfortably ahead of Romane Nappey (343) and Alice Bourdin (320).
Gaspard Cottaz and Anouchka Neuville ahead in the U18s
In the U18s, Gaspard Cottaz (394) is first in the men’s rankings , with a large lead over Paul Rousset Vachon (336) and Victor Lafrasse (326). Anouchka Neuville (408) dominates the women’s ranking ahead of Gaëtane Breniaux (365) and Lucile Coutaz (343).

In the Under 16s, Gaby Thomas (400) from the Franc-Comtois region took first place ahead of Raphaël Marrel (366) and Solal Jonnard (346) from Club Elite Hautes-Alpes. Lison Brouart (405) led the way in the women’s category, ahead of Lou Rives (396) and Louna Remillon (374).
Finally, CS La Féclaz (750) leads the club rankings, as does Mont Blanc (1,330) in the committee rankings.
