Cross-country skiing: Gaspard Rousset and Léonie Perry top the French Cup standings
In the middle of last week, the 2024/2025 French Cross-Country Skiing Cup opened on the slopes of Bessans (Savoie). A skate sprint and an individual classic were on the programme. An opportunity to establish an initial hierarchy.
First of all, in the senior category, Gaspard Rousset, with a win and a third place, currently leads the overall standings with 202 points. He has already closed the gap, with Julien Arnaud (168), Victor Cullet (166), Arnaud Chautemps (163) and Victor Lovera (158) all within striking distance.
On the women’s side, with 215 points, Léonie Perry leads the way ahead of Julie Pierrel (195), Clémence Didierlaurent (179), Léonie Besson (168), Justine Gaillard (168) and Liv Coupat (166).
In the U20s, Savoyard Adrien Marchand (185) is the leader ahead of Isaïe Taxil (172) and Quentin Lespine (165), while Margot Tirloy (210) is just ahead of Agathe Margreither (205) in the women’s rankings.
Paul Rousset Vachon and Anouchka Neuville first in U18
Paul Rousset Vachon (195) from Le Revard in Savoie leads the men’s U18 hierarchy by… 11 points ahead of Gaspard Cottaz (184) , while Victor Lafrasse (156) is almost 30 points back. Anouchka Neuville (193), just ahead of Lucile Coutaz (190), is in front in the women’s category.
In the Under 16s, Jurassian Gaby Thomas (198) is No. 1 in the rankings ahead of Raphaël Marrel (181) and Solal Jonnard (170), from Team Elite Hautes-Alpes. Lison Brouart (205) leads the women’s ranking, with Lou Rives (191) and Janie Picard (190) in her wake.
Finally, CS La Féclaz (459) is ahead in the club rankings, while Mont Blanc (655) leads the committee rankings.
