Cross-country skiing : Federico Pellegrino fourth in the Tour de Ski
By finishing seventh on the final climb to Alpe Cermis, Federico Pellegrino closed the Tour de Ski in fourth place overall, at the end of seven stages in which the Transalpine showed some very fine form.
Federico Pellegrino also scored points in the World Cup. He is now in third place, behind Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo and Harald Oestberg Amundsen.

“I’m very proud of my fourth place and the way I managed that period, especially after my failure in the individual in Toblach. Some people would have thrown in the towel. Instead, I held on and got another podium and this important fourth place”, said the Transalpine in a statement from his federation.
“The most positive thing is that I’m still performing well despite the passage of time. When you have good results, it’s mentally easier to think about the future. I still have confidence in my abilities, in my legs, in my head, and I know that I can plan for the next 14 months to stay competitive in February 2026.” That is, at the Olympic Games on home soil.

Several of his team-mates finished the Tour just as satisfied. That’s the case forElia Barp: “Overall, I’m happy with the Tour de Ski, I finished in the top twenty and that’s very good”. Even if the climb up Alpe Cermis cost him a lot: “I struggled, but it was my second time. I need to get to know this race better and, in the years to come, things will get better.

The final period also revealed the excellent potential of Martino Carollo who was discovering the programme, including this legendary final chapter: “It was a new race for me, I didn’t know the course and I didn’t know how difficult it could be. I knew that a steady pace could pay off and that I would have to follow not the best, but let’s say the second group. I’m happy, it’s a good way to finish a Tour de Ski that was positive, even above my expectations. I’ve learnt something at every stage and that can only be useful for the years to come.

The first top ten of his career for Lorenzo Romano, who is “really proud” of what he has achieved.
