Cross-country skiing: Norway brings out the heavy artillery ahead of the World Championships
The cross-country skiing World Cup resumes this Friday with the Falun stage in Sweden. The programme for this ninth weekend on the circuit includes a classic sprint on Friday, an individual 10-kilometre race in the same style on Saturday anda 20-kilometre mass-start skate race on Sunday.

And a few minutes after the announcement of the French squad for this final rehearsal before the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), which start on 26 February, the Norwegians also revealed the names of those who will be travelling to their Swedish neighbours.
In the women’s race, Kristine Stavaas Skistad, Julie Myhre, Mathilde Myhrvold, Ane Appelkvist Stenseth, Elena Rise Johnsen and Hedda Bakkemo will represent their country in the sprint. In the men’s race, Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo makes his return to the Scandinavian ranks alongsideErik Valnes, Even Northug, Ansgar Evensen, Joergen Schjoelberg, who will be making his elite debut, Matz William Jenssen and Oskar Opstad Vike.

In the individual classic, Therese Johaug will also be making her comeback to prepare for the Worlds. She will be joined by Heidi Weng, Astrid Oeyre Slind, Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs, Nora Sanness, Silje Theodorsen and Helene Marie Fossesholm. The men’s race will also feature a strong field including Martin Loewstroem Nyenget, Harald Oestberg Amundsen, Simen Hegstad Krueger, Andreas Fjorden Ree, Erik Valnes, Paal Golberg, Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo and Mattis Stenshagen.
