Cross-country skiing : Astrid Oeyre Slind gets the better of Therese Johaug again
The women’s cross-country skiers began the year 2025 on the slopes of Toblach (Italy) in glorious sunshine. The fourth stage of the Tour de Ski, the day’s classic pursuit brought the competitions to a close in Dobbiaco (Italy) before the world caravan set off for Val di Fiemme (Italy).

And over the 15 kilometre course, Astrid Oeyre Slind and Therese Johaug quickly put an end to any suspense. Impressively taking it in turns along the course, the Norwegians widened the gap at each intermediate stage. Inseparable, the two Scandinavians made mincemeat of each other in the final sprint.
Astrid Oeyre Slind once again got the better of her compatriot. Winner the day before by a margin of just four seconds, the 36-year-old cross-country skier claimed her third victory of the winter, having never before won a World Cup race at the start of the season.

Thanks to this latest authoritative victory, she has also scored a coup in the overall classification, taking the lead by six seconds over Therese Johaug. Third on the day, Kerttu Niskanen followed up her top 3 finish with a similar position overall.
After crossing the line in sixth place and more than two minutes behind the leader, Jessie Diggins lost out big time as she relinquished her gold leader’s bib and now finds herself a minute behind the leader.
Léonie Perry thirty-sixth, same as the day before
For the Blues, it was the French team rookie who put in the best performance of the day. Thirty-sixth at the finish, Léonie Perry held her nerve, as the Vosgienne didn’t lose a place following an individual skate event in which she finished in the same position.

Behind her, Léna Quintin took forty-second place in the final, while her team-mate Mélissa Gal had to make do with forty-sixth place.
