Cross-country skiing : a classic pursuit to kick off 2025
This Wednesday, on the first day of the year 2025, the great caravan of world cross-country skiing is on deck. From 10.30 am, the cross-country skiers will set off on the fourth stage of the Tour de Ski, which is none other than a classic 15-kilometre pursuit based on the gaps from Tuesday’s individual skate races.

The first to start will be Harald Oestberg Amundsen, who put in a fine performance the day before. 50 seconds later, Hugo Lapalus will start in seventh position, just ahead of his compatriot Mathis Desloges, who is 53 seconds behind the leader. Jules Lapierre will start with bib 16, Rémi Bourdin 20, Richard Jouve 41 and Théo Schely 46. Lucas Chanavat will not be lining up at the start.

In the women’s race, Astrid Oeyre Slind will open the ball at 12.30pm with a margin of just four seconds over Therese Johaug. In the French clan, only three riders will be defending the French colours, as Julie Pierrel will not be starting. The first to enter the race will be Mélissa Gal in the 35. The Haut-Savoyard will be closely followed by Léonie Perry in size 36 and Léna Quintin in size 44.
