Cross-country skiing : another Norwegian hat-trick at the Tour de Ski
It was in brilliant sunshine that the cross-country skiers gathered in Toblach ( Italy) on Monday for the second stage of the Tour de Ski 2025/2026, an individual race in classic technique. At the end of the 10-kilometre effort, Norway’s Mattis Stenshagen was the winner.

Starting with bib 33, the Scandinavian chose the offensive option. In first place from the 1.7 kilometre mark, the 29-year-old then controlled his effort perfectly to maintain his lead until the finish. This was his first World Cup success. It was the Norwegian’ s third World Cup podium, his second of the winter after third place in the individual skate in Davos (Switzerland).

Behind him, the king of the discipline, Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo, had to make do with second place. Consistent throughout the effort, the Norwegian finished 8.9 seconds behind his compatriot and, after his victory in the skate sprint on Sunday, strengthened his position as leader in the overall classification.
Norwegian domination continues. After their hat-trick on the first stage, the Scandinavians once again monopolised the podium, which was entirely red and blue. The experienced Emil Iversen rounded off the top 3, 10 sec 1 behind the winner, to claim his second podium of the winter after his third place at the skiathlon in Trondheim (Norway).

The rest of the top 10 was made up of Finland’s Iivo Niskanen, Sweden’s Edvin Anger, and Norway’s Erik Valnes and Harald Oestberg Amundsen. Italy’s Elia Barp took eighth place, just ahead of Russia’s Saveliy Korostelev, who achieved his best ever World Cup result. The top 10 is completed by the highly experienced Federico Pellegrino.
Théo Schely first Blue
For the French, it was Théo Schely who put in the best performance. Making his World Cup comeback, the Frenchman, who started with bib number 2, delivered a solid race. He got off to a good start and finished thirteenth, less than two seconds from the top 10.

Two other Tricolores finished in the top 20: Hugo Lapalus finished sixteenth, nearly 50 seconds behind the winner, while Jules Chappaz put in a solid performance to finish twentieth.

Further back, Rémi Bourdin was thirty-fifth, Clément Parisse forty-first, Jules Lapierre forty-seventh, Richard Jouve forty-ninth, Victor Lovera seventy-eighth and Lucas Chanavat ninetieth.
