Hugo Lapalus had an emotional end to the Tour de Ski. Third in the final overall classification after finishing fourth in the legendary climb toAlpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme (Italy), the Frenchman managed to keep the purple bib of best climber right to the end of the terrible climb.

Just a few hours after taking it back from Andrew Musgrave, the Haut-Savoyard did everything he could to win the award, a newcomer to this nineteenth edition of the tour. It was a historic performance, as he will remain the first cross-country skier to have his name inscribed on the list of winners of this prestigious competition.
