Therese Johaug pulled off a real coup on Saturday at the Tour de Ski skiathlon in Val di Fiemme (Italy). Dominant as she has been for many seasons on the cross-country skiing world cup, the Norwegian won the event solo after an impressive performance.

Crossing the line just 30 seconds ahead of her nearest rival, the new record holder of the number of victories on the tour (15) turned the overall classification upside down with just one stage to go.
Taking back the golden leader’s bib fromAstrid Oeyre Slind, the Scandinavian now has a 22-second gap over her compatriot. A comfortable lead when you consider that she has won the difficult final climb of Alpe Cermis (Italy) eight times.

By hanging on until the end on Saturday, Jessie Diggins may well have secured herself a place in the box on Sunday evening, as she now has a 40-second lead over Kerttu Niskanen, fourth overall.
