Cross-country skiing: Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo receives five out of five awards
Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo is still not satisfied. Winner of the sprint skate, the skiathlon, the individual classic and the team sprint classic the day before, the Norwegian won his fifth gold medal of the 2025 cross-country skiing world championships in the men’s relay on the slopes of Trondheim (Norway).
Well helped by his team-mates Erik Valnes, Martin Loewstroem Nyenget and Harald Oestberg Amundsen, who managed to make the difference on the first run of the day, the world number one finished his team’s job perfectly and without a moment’s hesitation.
Crossing the finish line in first place with a comfortable lead, the Scandinavian lifted his arms for the fifth time in a row in front of a home crowd who have been living a daydream with their local star since 27 February.

Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo ‘s latest success, his second as part of a team after the sprint team with Erik Valnes, means that he can now add his name to the list of world titles in his discipline. The 28-year-old now surpasses his compatriot Petter Northug Jr and his thirteen world titles. A colossal achievement for the man who had nine world titles to his name going into this fortnight.
