Cross-country skiing: 8th place for Nadja Kaelin in the 10 km classic
It was a good day for Swiss cross-country skiing: following Cyril Faehndrich ‘s 7th place in the men’s race, Nadja Kaelin finished 8th in the individual 10km classic at the World Championships in Trondheim (Switzerland).
The 23-year-old from Graubünden is having a remarkable season.
On 22 February, the skier won the Norwegian Cup in Gjøvik, completing the five kilometres in just over 12 minutes. She beat local rivals Mali Eidnes Bakken and Milla Grosberghaugen, the four-time medallist at the last Junior World Championships in Schilpario (Italy). Just before that, she had finished 8th at the World Cup in Falun, Sweden. It was her best individual result.
Nadja Kaelin had already put in a fine performance in the skiathlon on Sunday, finishing sixth.
“We know how Kaelin has to work to repeat this kind of result,” analysed consultant Jovian Hediger on RTS.
